Catalina Gomez Alvarez

Catalina Gómez Alvarez was born 1994 in Berlin. She studies Product Design at University of Arts Berlin since 2014. During her studies she attended interdisciplinary design,performance and photography classes supervised by Prof. Jozef Legrand and Prof. Erwin Müller. Last year she was on exchange in Vienna at University of Applied Arts supervised by Anab Jain.

She was part of London Design Biennale 2018 for the Austrian Pavillion and presented there together with the Design Investigations Studio After Abundance, a glimpse of life in a changed Austria.

Currently her work „Emoji.me" an interactive object that takes the user on a journey to question the consequences of the usage of emoticons to express emotions digitally is shown in Bogotá at the new art space Estación Terrena.
