Halea Isabelle Kala is an artist, director and producer. She was born in 1989, grew up in Berlin and later moved to London to study Photography and Media & Communications at Goldsmiths College, from where she graduated in 2013.

Now again based back in her hometown Berlin, she works as an anthropological filmmaker, photographer and cultural producer. As the director of MUSÉ - a label, network and platform for transformative artistic and socio-cultural work - she furthermore initiates and facilitates collaborative projects with cultural creatives and social entrepreneurs from different fields.

In her work, Halea documents and shares the stories of individuals and communities, with a particular focus on societal, political and ecological matters as well as movements. Through this, she explores new possibilities and social imaginations for the future. Her latest project is TRANSMODERNITY, a feature length documentary presenting an array of different changemakers across Europe, who are active in the fields of education, activism, economics, the arts as well as ritual and healing. During the past 2,5 years of making this film, she has been developing a concept for a longterm platform and network that will connect changemakers across the globe, to aid exchange between and support for a diverse range of inspiring projects for a conscious, sustainable and fair world.
