Auf Initiative des Auswärtige Amtes, unter Leitung des Goethe-Instituts und mit Unterstützung des Bundesverbands der Deutschen Industrie (BDI) findet bis Ende 2019 ein Deutschlandjahr in den USA statt. Im Fokus steht die enge Partnerschaft zwischen den beiden Ländern, die auf tiefgreifenden historischen Bindungen, gemeinsamen Werten und mutigen Zukunftsvisionen gründet. Das Deutschlandjahr USA zeigt ein umfassendes Bild der facettenreichen Beziehungen in den Bereichen Wissenschaft, Kunst, Kultur, Sprache, Wirtschaft und Sport. Damit wird der Austausch mit US-Amerikanerinnen und -Amerikanern im ganzen Land gefördert – nicht nur in New York, Washington und Los Angeles, sondern auch im Herzen des Landes.
Der Generalsekretär des Goethe-Instituts, Johannes Ebert, gibt einen Überblick über das Gesamtprojekt und stellt gemeinsam mit Projektpartnern Projekte aus dem Programm von „Wunderbar Together“ vor.
On the initiative of the Federal Foreign Office, under the direction of the Goethe-Institut, and with the support of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), “Wunderbar Together”, the Year of German-American Friendship, takes place in the US until the end of 2019. The initiative is focusing on the robust relationship between the two countries, rooted in deep historic ties, shared values, and bold visions for the future. “Wunderbar Together” paints a picture of everything German-American relations stand for, including science, the arts, culture, language, business, and sports. This way, it creates an exchange of ideas with all Americans, not only in New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, but also in the heart of the country.
The Secretary General of the Goethe-Institut, Johannes Ebert, gives an insight into the overall project and, together with project partners, presents projects from the "Wunderbar Together" programme.
