M.eik Michalke is a founding member, managing director and member of the board of directors of the Cultural Commons Collecting Society (C3S), a Euorpean Cooperative Society (SCE) of music authors and performers. He holds a diploma in psychology and is doing his doctorate at the Heinrich Heine Universtity of Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2005 he initiated the OpenMusicContest, to educate both musicians and the public about copyright and Creative Commons licensing. Since 1995 he's an active member of the DIY independent rock band /'angstalt/, and the author of several free and open source software projects, mostly statistical analysis with R.
