Elizabeth Calderón Lüning is associate researcher at the Weizenbaum Institut for the networked society for the researcch group "Inequality and digital sovereignty" and also co-founder and chairwoman of Common Grounds. She researches, consults and teaches on the topics of neighbourhood participation, organizational development and networking. She develops and publishes learning material for local initiatives, administrations and other organizations to support innovative cooperation between different stakeholders.
Originally basing her work within international development aid, Calderón Lüning has followed and supported the work of Prinzessinnengarten since its initiation in 2009. As co-founder of the Nachbarschaftsakademie, a self-organized open platform for urban and rural knowledge sharing, cultural practice and activism, she is currently leading the community efforts of the Berlin pilot within the EU research project MAZI (CAPS/H2020).
