Marc DaCosta

Marc is a creative technologist and anthropologist living in New York City and the co-founder of Enigma, a 100-person data technology company. Marc holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology from the University of California, Irvine, where his research examined place making practices in the anthropocene. In addition, Marc is a fellow at the Columbia School of Journalism’s Brown Institute for Media Innovation, collaborating with investigative journalists to develop new approaches to data-driven storytelling. Marc has received numerous awards for his work, including fellowships from the National Science Foundation and Intel Labs and has written about technology and society for The New York Times, The Guardian, and elsewhere.
