Alison Killing is an architect and interactive media producer. Over the past five years, she has created and produced a series of non-fiction storytelling works, from interactive exhibitions to online documentaries. Her most recent work is the online documentary Migration Trail, which follows a number of fictional migrants travelling to Europe, in real time over ten days. It is based on true stories. The voices of the two characters have been written as instant message feeds by writers from Nigeria and Lebanon, with these feeds available both on the website itself and in Facebook messenger, so that the audience can get the story in their personal space on their mobile phone, as it unfolds, wherever they are. The real time telling of the story was also intended to create urgency and immediacy. An accompanying podcast series explored the wider issues.
