re:publica Next Generation

In 2019 re:publica will dedicate more space than ever to the young generation. To a generation that has grown up using digital media in an interconnected world.

“re:publica Next Generation” includes both new formats and partnerships especially for young people as well as our longstanding Research & Education track re:learn. All of those new and old formats will find a common home in Kühlhaus near STATION Berlin this year.

TINCON

TINCON (teenageinternetwork conference) was founded in 2016 as a conference for the young digital society. This year for the first time, TINCON will be held as part of re:publica at Kühlhaus next to STATION Berlin. TINCON provides a safe space for young people aged 13-21 to discuss the topics of their generation - from YouTube and Instagram to science, politics, coding and mental health. Some of the talks and workshops will take place in protected spaces without adults present.

The TINCON program during school hours will be tailored to school classes. Classes and other learning groups will soon be able to register. Admission to TINCON is free of charge. Registration is required. TINCON participants below the age of 21 will have access to re:publica.

TINCON is organized by TINCON e.V., a non-profit funded, among others, by Robert Bosch Foundation, the German Ministry for Family Affairs and ZEIT foundation.

re:learn

The talks of our Research & Education track re:learn will also take place at Kühlhaus. Teachers accompanying their classes to TINCON will have the opportunity to learn about recent developments in digital education and connect with other experts from the field.

Jetpack

“Jetpack” is the name of the first career and education fair that will take place within the framework of rp19. The HR departments of the most interesting German companies will inform young high school and university graduates on training opportunities and the careers of today and tomorrow.
