tl;dr - Call for Participation

We provide a forum for your ideas – the topics, projects, visions that you really care about. Because re:publica is you and you’re re:publica! Both participant and speaker in equal measure!

Give a talk about digital humanism at the re:publica 2019 and debate internet policies. Speak about smart cities and technology utopias. Explore the relationship between digitisation and the intersectional points of sustainability and culture. Take a look into outer space and into the future. Open minds to topics that nobody is yet aware of. Lead with your commitment on social issues.

Whatever it is that moves you, submit it from October 15, 2018 to the Call for Participation and help shape the re:publica 2019 with your suggestions.

Still uncertain?

Diversity in all of its facets is important to us. That’s why we curate a good third of the considerable re:publica programme from your submissions. That’s why we search for the right platform and audience for every great contribution that reaches us – regardless of age, gender, nationality, profession or experience speaking in front of groups. Go for it!

More inspiration?

re:publica manifests the commitment, responsibilities and emancipation of digital society. You can submit your contribution for all sorts of Tracks and Topics. The overarching tracks include “Politics & Society”, “Art & Culture”, Science & Technology”, Lifestyle & Leisure”, “Mobility & City” and more.

We’d be particularly pleased if you find yourself inspired by the re:publica 2019 motto: “tl;dr (too long; didn’t read)”. The festival is hereby dedicated to the fine print. The footnotes. The power of research, knowledge and the controversial.

The individual focus areas, or topics, will first be established over the coming months. They’re determined from both your submissions and also from current discussions in society. Whether it’s going to be the “Next Generation Europe”, “My City/Your City/Our City”, “Digital Culture Club”, “Cancel the Apocalypse, NOW”, “Sustainable Paradise”, “Creative AI”, “Shared Mobility”, “Taboo Technologies” or ideas for MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin – re:publica is thematically open and diverse. Check out the programme and videos from #rp18 for more inspiration.

And... Action

Even offstage and backstage, re:publica lives through you. You can send in anything and everything that knocks people out of their seats. Actions, pop ups, flash mobs, field research, walking acts, games or photography – surprise us.

For the ultimate sceptics:

German and English are the spoken languages. That’s the extent of what’s required of you. What awaits you is a ton of fun, the world’s best audience, exciting discussions and a legendary closing party. Come be a part of the bigger picture and, with your very individual contribution, help make re:publica the most exciting conference for digital society in Europe.

We’re already really looking forward to an exciting and brilliant re:publica 2019.
