I’ll be moving around the festival like an official event photographer, but focusing on what is usually left behind, like the recurrent elements and strategies used to build up the temporary, physical frame of the festival itself.
Description
In a context of experience economy, in which having an experience - and taking photos of it – takes on major importance, festivalization has become a trend.
The spread of this phenomenon, with the consequent need to create temporary places out from daily life, explains the shift from hard to soft infrastructure development prioritization.
Collecting taxonomies of recurrent elements and strategies used to create the re:publica temporary place in Berlin, will allow focusing on the event from different perspectives.
