On day two of re:publica, the Digital Culture Club will be taking over Stage 8. Following the #rp19 motto tl;dr, we’re going to be taking a few steps back and go back to the source of all forms of culture: storytelling. We’ll shine a light on digitally influenced forms of expression, the use of emojis, infographics and maps, multimedia presentations, to an analysis of the transmedial dramaturgy of live role-playing. We’ll focus on cultural mediation in the digital age, with insider views from cultural administrations and institutions such as museums and libraries: Who’s already gone completely digital, who is hesitating to do so, and why? We’ll show and discuss with #rp19 participants to what extent our increasingly digital socialisation also influences the identity of artists – and how collaborative working process can enable new performative formats and more cultural participation, for instance via digital archives.
The Digital Culture Club welcomes all perspectives from artists and the culturally inclined, from writers and publishers, from museum employees to filmmakers and theatre-makers, from AR/VR artists to curators and dramaturges – come be inspired, join the discussions and surprise us with your ideas!
