Als Tochter einer Broadwaydarstellerin und eines Bühnenmeisters fand Layla Mueller’s Kindheit hinter den Kulissen einer riesen Kulturindustrie statt. Dort begann ihre Begeisterung für Kostüme und Mode. 2014 sammelte Layla intensive Erfahrungen in der New Yorker Modebranche, gefolgt von einem Auslandssemester in Helsinki wo sie nehmen ihrem Studium die Position der Assistant Producer der ersten Helsinki Fashion Week annahm. Sie hat den B.A. (in 2016) und M.A. (in2018) in Modedesign. 2016/17 war sie Designer in Residence bei dem Berliner Designstudio ElektroCouture. Dort entwickelt sie unter Nutzung von innovativen Designtechniken die Fashion Tech Kollektion „The Syma Line“. Die Designs wurden auf der Fashiontech im Rahmen der Berlin Fashion Week sowie bei weiteren nationalen Ausstellungen und Events präsentiert, bei denen Layla auch als Speakerin für die Zukunft der Mode teilnimmt. Sie entwickelte die Tanzkostüme für das innovative Tanztheater „reSHOW“ und kreierte die nachhaltige Schmuckmarke „Knothingelse“. Seit 2018 ist sie zusätzlich Eventmanagerin bei der Agentur Wear It Berlin für die internationalen Konferenz Wear It Innovation Summit und andere Veranstaltungen im Zusammenhang mit Fashion Tech.

The daughter of a New Yorker Broadway actress and a German stage manager, Layla Mueller’s childhood took place on tour behind the scenes of a huge cultural industry. That is where her enthusiasm for costumes and fashion began. In 2014 Layla gathered extensive experience in the New York fashion industry, followed by an international semester in Helsinki where she took the position of Assistant Producer at the first Helsinki Fashion Week next to her studies. Layla received her B.A. (in 2016)  and M.A. (in 2018)  in Fashion Design.  2016/17 she was a Designer in Residence at the Berlin design studio ElektroCouture where she developed her fashion tech collection “The Syma Line” using innovative design techniques. Her designs were presented at Fashiontech during Berlin Fashion Week as well as further national exhibitions where she also attends as a speaker for the future of fashion. She created the dance costumes for the innovative dance theatre “reSHOW” and built the eco-friendly jewellery brand “Knothingelse”. In addition, since 2018, she is event manager at the agency Wear It Berlin for the international Wear It Innovation Summit and other Fashion Tech related events.
