The young community of Mosul Space are currently setting up Mosul's first co-working and makerspace, a much needed space for youth to come together in the city, devastated by four years of ISIS occupation.
In this fun, creative session, participants will paint over a current image with a vision of a brighter, tech-driven future - creating a first version of what will become a large public mural, #Mosul2030.

Come and help us, quite literally, paint a picture of the bright future of Mosul!
The young community of Mosul Space are currently setting up Mosul's first co-working and makerspace, a much needed space for youth to come together in the city, devastated by four years of ISIS occupation.
The theme #Mosul2030 will run throughout the first year's training and events, creating a vision of brighter, tech-driven future for Mosul.
And we would like to gather some inspiration from Re:Publica19 participants....
In this session the founder of Mosul Space will kick-off with his personal introduction to the history of Mosul, where it is now, and his dreams for the future. Participants will then get a panel with an engraving of how the devastated parts of the city look now and paints etc. to cover over this with their vision of the future, 3D printing sky-scrapers, rocket launches etc!. The one we decide is our favourite will become part of a lit-up tableu of Past, Present and Future to be displayed in the new co-working space.
(This is also a practice run/inspiration for getting the community in Mosul involved in creating a #Mosul2030 mural in the co-working and a public space).
