Beschreibung

Polarization and lack of meaningful deliberation are some of the struggles we face in the divided and radicalized world. Digital media can be used to improve connection and sharing of ideas, but they need to embrace diversity and depth in order to contribute to solving global challenges.

Social simulations create a platform for nurturing this in-depth dialogue. Like a time machine, they offer participants a journey into the future. They can compress time and space, connect actions and consequences. They trigger a change in participants. They can affect behavior and actions in the real world, but also their opinions and even worldviews. Players immerse in new roles and test out different strategies. They experience frustration and satisfaction, helplessness and hope, discouragement and motivation. The strength of simulations lies in bringing together different often opposing perspectives. People of different backgrounds and beliefs meet in one place and are encouraged to interact, negotiate and talk. Social simulations can be fully integrated with and enhanced by digital media.

Sounds interesting? Come and experience the complexity of climate change, democracy, energy transition, water security, and sustainability. Grasp the challenges of collective action that is necessary to change the world. You will be able to actively engage in a demo of selected social simulations.

Presented social simulations were developed by the Centre for Systems Solutions. We work worldwide collaborating with different sectors (including business, administration, NGOs, research) as well as artists (theaters, dancers). We create platforms for better understanding and collaboration that comes from experiencing the future and complexity of the world!
