Ramona Pop is Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Economics, Energy und Public Enterprises since December 8, 2016. She was born in Timisoara, Romania, and moved to Germany in 1988. She studied political science at Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität in Münster and at Otto-Suhr-Institut of Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2001, she is Member of the Berlin Parliament. Prior to that, she has been the Deputy Chairwoman of the parliamentary group of The Greens (2006 – 2009) and the Chairwoman of the parliamentary group of The Greens in the Berlin Parliament (2009 – 2016).
