Chris Earney

Chris Earney is the interim Head of UNHCR's Innovation Service, which he co-founded in 2012. The Service is a small and creative team in the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) that drives innovation from field offices through to HQ. Chris graduated from the University of Durham in 2005 and received his MA in Modernity, Space and Place from the University College London in 2006. During his eleven+ years with UNHCR, Chris has served in field offices including Dadaab, Darfur, Dollo Ado, and Baghdad. In HQ, along with Innovation, Chris led a small team supporting the Europe Refugee Crisis, called the Winter Cell. He sees innovation as something that is underpinned by diversity and inclusion.
