Marcus Engert ist Journalist und Reporter im Deutschland-Büro von BuzzFeed News, einer Redaktion mit Fokus auf Investigation & Recherche. Dort produziert er auch den Recherche-Podcast „Unterm Radar“.

Zuvor war er Mitgründer und Redaktionsleiter von detektor.fm, welches unter anderem als „Beste Innovation“ mit dem Deutschen Radiopreis ausgezeichnet wurde, hat diverse Podcasts produziert und entwickelt und andere dabei beraten. Er war als Reporter und Autor u.a. für den BBC World Service in London, verschiedene ARD-Anstalten und bei der Nachrichtenagentur dapd tätig und unterrichtete als Lehrbeauftragter und Dozent an verschiedenen Universitäten und Journalistenschulen.

Marcus Engert is a journalist and works as a reporter in BuzzFeed News' Germany office, which is focused on investigation and research. He also is the producer of „Unterm Radar“, a podcast covering journalistic research in general and the work reporters are doing in particular.

Prior to that, he was co-founder and editor-in-chief of detektor.fm, which was i.a. awarded with the German Radio Award for “Best Innovation”, produced and developed several podcasts and advised others in these fields. He also worked as a reporter and writer for media outlets such as BBC World Service in London, several ARD stations and the news agency dapd. He has also taught and lectured at various universities and schools of journalism.
