Jessica studied mechanical and aeronautical engineering at McGill University in Montreal, Canada before moving to Zurich, Switzerland to pursue her Master’s in mechanical engineering. She had originally focused on gas turbines and similar combustion systems and specialized in thermoacoustic coupling.
Due to her recent graduation, interest in the energy sector, and passion for the environment, Jessica is now starting to work as a technical specialist in the conservation field. She currently works as a conservation technologist at the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB Berlin) and is building a smart turbidity sensor for application on the Vjosa river in Albania. She is also an organizer of the Students for Rivers camp, an initiative of the Balkan River Defence and the official kick-off of the River Intellectuals network.
